A recent BusinessInsider.com article announced that the Facebook app for Android Smartphones can change your audio settings, record audio, and take pictures and videos at any time and without your confirmation. Sounds like fun, huh? Especially since there is already malware that can take control of Android phones, see Hackers Can Take Control Of Android Phones.
Gazing into my crystal ball I see future cyber criminal activity in the areas of blackmail and other extortion based on embarrassing audio and video of personal and other inappropriate moments; and spying on corporate leaders, government and military secret operations and meetings…you get the picture.
Google, the owner of the Android operating system, and Facebook need to get together and rectify this situation…now.
