It’s amazing to me that some of the scams on the Internet have been around for years. This longevity indicates the crooks who run them are still making money on them…meaning that we users are still being fooled by them; despite all the Internet security we have at our disposal. I just posted an article that discusses why we fall for these scams titled Internet Security: A Clash of Realities, and how our “human nature” and emotions are involved. Today, Help Net Security has posted an article titled Top Scams On The Web discussing a recent PandaLabs report on the most successful scams on the web. This is a perfect companion-piece to my post because it describes the scams that prey on Internet users. It recommends, as my post does, to use common sense when using the Internet and using a good security suite.
