Google, not to be outdone by Microsoft, has a web page dedicated to Internet and computer safety. It’s called Good To Know, A guide to staying safe and secure online. I’m glad to see Google provide this information source to its customer community; and I commend them for it. It seems they certainly get plenty of bad press and complaints when they do something wrong, so they should get credit when they do something right.
The page’s main topic areas are:
- Stay safe and secure online
- Keep your family safe online
- Learn how Google helps protect you, and
- Know your web
Within these main topics you can find such areas of information as: preventing identity theft, avoiding scams, reporting inappropriate content, Jargon buster, and Internet 101. I recommend Google’s Good To Know site for all computer and Internet users. Go take a look…you might just learn something new there.
Be very careful…it’s dangerous out there.
